  I felt I should take a moment to review W R Harvey’s Antiques. Having done business with the firm since their days in Old Bond Street I am pleased to say the experiences have been nothing but positive. David Harvey not only has some of the finest stock, he is also a true enthusiast in his realm. Always willing and eager to share his knowledge of the pieces in his showroom, David is very “hands on”. I have watched him work on gently cleaning away decades-worth of accumulated wax and dirt to reveal the underlying beauty of the grain on a lovely old music stand and the joy it gave him was apparent. I should add here that it is a pleasure to walk through the premises - the pieces are always displayed in an appealing and “natural” manner. I am astonished by David’s ability to recall the details of transactions which took place years earlier, and he has worked with me on several occasions to find new homes, when necessary, for pieces I had acquired from him. If you are interested in high quality, often unusual, antiques, particularly from the era focused around the 18th Century, Harvey’s should be on your list.
